I have yet to hear about
or read any information that differentiates between gastritis and GERD. Are they the same?
1. Can a person have gastritis and NOT have GERD?
2. Can a person have GERD and NOT gastritis?
3. Can a person reflux acid without having an inflamed stomach?
4. Is excess acid always found with gastritis?
I believe this subject has been brought up before, but I am still in the dark about any answers.
Try and find a doctor who will tell you the answers. I have not found such a talkative soul.
I would like to take a poll to see whose doctor has discussed
this issue. I'm confused. (It's tough to go through life confused!)
So why is this important? I think it is important so we as patients understand exactly what it is that the doctor is targeting when he/she prescribes medicine or a certain meal plan.
Certainly the answers to the above questions may be somewhat different for everyone, but I think the answers to these questions are relevant if we are to understand what is going on in our alimentary canals.
I'm SEARCHIN' .....for the answers.
