OTC Nexium to Prescription Nexium, but no relief

If Nexium was going to work for you, you would be feeling better by now, after using it for 2 weeks. I found that there was NO acid controller on the market, otc OR pharmaceutical, that gave me relief from acid reflux. The otc is not the same strength as the RX.

Are you taking 40mg once or twice per day?

Are you seeing a gastroenterologist and is that who prescribed the pharmaceutical grade Nexium?

I am 3 weeks post-op after having Laprascopic Nissen Fundoplication surgery. It was my last resort for some relief from 6+ years of misery with acid reflux. I was diagnosed with GERD years ago and had a 3cm hiatal hernia. My LES was not functioning therefore, acid reflux had free reign with my esophagus, lungs and vocal cords and my stomach was upset all the time.

I no longer have acid reflux and no longer need ANY acid meds. I hope you can find relief but DO find out the CAUSE of your misery and be pro-active in finding relief. Too many gastroenterologist just want you to keep taking useless medication and I just don't get that.
