New to the site; first posted this in the anxiety forum as I'd read of certain gastro issues inducing pressure on the vagus nerve, with the symptoms below appearing:
Career Army Aviator who experienced numerous of the oft-described rushing sensations, slightly like onset of feinting but can pull out of it, leaving feeling like your talking/living in a dream for hours. No loss of balance, coherence, or energy; largely remain functional but raging panic on inside. Can go months with nothing. Have noticed three severe occurrences following a meal that may have been less than clean, like sandwiches left out too long, bad grill food, etc. Then today I read about
hiatal hernias and other gastro issues pressing on the vagas nerve that can produce the anxiety/panic symptoms. Anyone? GREAT SITE. Thank you!

LABA,
Welcome to the forum.
Yes, gastro issues CAN affect the vagus nerve, your breathing, energy level, and can even cause heart arrhythmias. I should know because my esophageal spasms have caused my heart to go into SVT (rapid heartbeat).
Have you seen a doctor about
your symptoms? If you haven't, I urge you to go see one as soon as possible.

Hi Bryant,
I have sent you a text message. Please text me back so we can set up a time to talk. The first question I'm going to ask you, though, is have you seen a doctor yet. Looking forward to chatting with you.
