Hello!
I had a parasophageal hernia and subsequent fundoplication last summer, however I have had the hernia come back and want another reoperation as my old symptoms are back. I was wondering if anyone could recommend an excellent surgeon in the Pacific Northwest? Really want to get it right this time!

Hi Jeff,
Is there any chance you would go back to the original surgeon? Was he a thoracic surgeon?

To help you find a surgeon, you might want to do internet searches of a large teaching hospital, if there is one in your area, or any large hospital with satellite locations and call and ask for a referral to a cardio-thoracic surgeon. They are usually the highly skilled surgeons doing these types of surgery. When you get an appointment, he/she will review your history and decide if they need any further testing. Have your previous surgical history and pre-op tests available for their review.

Hey Linda!

The original surgeon I went to was in Geneva, and he was a visceral surgeon. I think he was good but I am really looking for someone who is the top of their field so it will not relapse again. I will definitely check out some cardio-thoracic surgeons in my area!
