I was on tecta, stopped for side effects, Nexium, stopped because really bad heartburn still, and then Dexilant now... no heartburn, no pain, but still occsional refluxes! Doctor said its only been a few days, give it more of a try so I am. No refluxes lately but my sore throat is still here! And its painful! Doctor said my throat seems a bit red but thats all. I know its fom the acid.
What do I do?? MY doctor said its still not bad enough for me to have to see a gastro, but because I had a tender stomach said it could be gastritis.
What do i do about the sore throat? And why is it there if I seem to be not getting refluxes/heartburn the past few days?

The first thing that comes to mind is are you sleeping with the head of your bed elevated? If not I would do that as soon as possible.
Sometimes doctors will prescribe PPIs or H2 blockers when someone also has bile reflux, which can carry very similar symptoms as GERD. I once had a coworker who had bile reflux so bad at night that she would wake up in the middle of the night with a very sore throat.
I have bile reflux sometimes and the only reason why I know this is because my GI doctor saw the bile in my biopsies taken of the holes caused by gastritis. It is not entirely understood by doctors yet why some people have bile reflux. I tend to get it when I eat fatty foods, so I stay away from that now.
I'm not saying this is the case with you, but it may be something to think about.
Some people have a tendency to secrete more acid or bile during their sleep, so you want to make sure you're not eating 3 to 4 hours before you go bed and preferable it should be a light meal. Secondly, having the head of your bed elevated is really important, I have mine now at about 9 inches, but some people have better results at higher / lower heights; it's something you'll need to test out.
