Lawchick and beautifully broken, I really feel for you both. I'm glad you have been able to get seen to so quickly beautifully broken.
I too get shortness of breath, it has now gotten to the point that when it happens I have to pay close attention to my respiration rate because if anything happens to cause me to breath faster e.g. exercising, getting a fright, I get close to passing out, the worst so far was at a comedy show (Allan Davies) I was laughing too much and had the tunnel vision start closing in. Though because of it I have become an expert at relaxtion breathing. If either of you are not already doing it, try to concentrate on breathing through your diaphragm, so your abdomen rather than your chest goes out when you take a breath, you'll still feel short of breath but it will stop any hyperventilation and dizziness from it. It also comes in handy when you have to do manometry tests.
LAWCHICK, can I ask which country you are from? Its awful that you can't see a doctor, it is really bad especially since you aren't able to eat. Are you able to handle protein shakes and things like that so you can at least keep up some energy?
I wish you both the best and a very smooth recovery.
