Hi all,
My gastro gave me Zantac a few weeks ago to take alongside all the other stuff (motillium, gaviscon, losec). I was reluctant when he suggested it because I was in the emergency room a few days prior and was due for a dose of losec, but the hospital gave me zantac instead because they said it would kick in faster. about an hour later I was feeling really acidy. So I told my gastro this and he said there was no way it was the Zantac and it must have been from the painkillers I was given. So I have been taking it, yet almost every time I take it, about an hour or so afterwards I get heartburn, I should note here that it is rare for me to feel acid because I have silent reflux.
It seems counterproductive that a medication supposed to treat acid is causing acid, but I can't find any other cause for it. Has anyone else noticed this with Zantac?
