Hello forum readers. I am 16 years old and am currently suffering from a disorder that I have had my entire life, and spent the last 2 years trying to find, with still no conclusion. It started off, one day, when I became extremely hypersensitive to how my stomach was feeling after drinking alcohol for the first time. I felt like my stomach/ esophagus area was closed and... Im not sure if you've heard of the enteric system(look it up)... But there is a connection between you're stomach and your brain. Anyway, I felt this form of "brain fog" and "disconneccted" from the world, kind of like what I saw and thought wasn't actually my own thoughts. Keep in mind I've had this my whole life and am now just hypersensitive about
. After about
a year of thinking I was depressed or psycho, I went to a doctor and was diagnosed with Eosiniphilic esophagitis, which is an inflammation of the esophagus and causes food to get stuck when swallowing, which I've had trouble swallowing my whole life.
Yes! I found out what was wrong with me! Not quite, after getting rid of milk and completely treating my esohpagus to a point that is as normal as anyone else's, I still felt this brainfog and disconnectness.
Ever since then I've been to ultrasounds, spine x-ray, gastro-emptying testing, psychologists, endoscopies, and a hundred appointments, no doctor has yet to understand my symptoms and put a name to what I have.
During this year I've pinpointed these symptoms and here they are: electric/tasering feeling in my esophagus, clench shoulder and arms, involuntary clenching of stomach (related to taser feeling), clogged ears feeling (can't unclog). Over the years (16 in fact) I've subconsciously been able to "close my stomach". Well that's what it feels like. It feels like I clench my stomach to relieve this unbearable electrifying pain. I've just now realized it because I don't know what it feels like not to have a tasering feeling in my stomach/esophagus. Keep in fact when I clench it will change the way I feel (enteric system) and I willl feel my whole body is clogged, im holding onto to something. This is not anxiety. Trust me, I've to several psychologists. When I clench, I feel somewhat tired and relaxed, yet still brain foggy. When I'm not clenching I feel this tasering throughout my whole body I can't seem to relax or stop moving. This explains why I could never sleep my whole life and why I always had this energetic push and never felt lazy and always needed to move (sounds good but isn't for me). What food I eat also indicates how my stomach feels. Pasta is slimy to when I eat it covers up my esophagus/ stomach and relieves the pain somewhat. Crackers are dry and not sit well in my stomach and will increase the jitery/ taser/ electric feeling in my stomach/esophagus
So I write in this forum to you guys to please reply whether you know anything about
this or could direct me in a path. Seriously any kind of information will help and will be life changing. Maybe have you guys experienced these same symptoms, maybe in a different fashion? Or you know a doctor? Or you know someone who's had this feeling. If so, please reply because this will end my struggle. Thanks for reading.
