With silent reflux, people typically don't experience heartburn symptoms found in GERD. Heartburn usually isn't present because the acids reflux past the lower and upper valves of the esophagus into the throat and voice box. ENT doctors such as an otolaryngologist or laryngologist are the appropriate doctors to diagnose and treat silent reflux. Here's an article that gives a better understanding of the causes, complications, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
