Having Manometry next week

How long does the manometry text take?
I have been reading here about others' experiences and it is very helpful. I had barium swallow last week, the tech who did the test showed me the films. Wow, no wonder I always feel like my stomach is in my throat! lol It is. I have developed the coughing, choking, waking out of a dead sleep puking syndrome for a while now. Before that it was horrible burning reflux we all know and hate. SO....I want to thank you all now who have shared your experiences. Knowing what you have been through, what worked and what didn't will be very helpful. Thanks again.

From what I remember it took a little over an hour. It was uncomfortable because of the tube in the nose. And you have to really, really try not to swallow until they tell you. My tech got mad because I kept swallowing too much. But I couldn't help it.

I went home with the tube in my nose for a day to record something else... I think it was reflux. Can't rememberr now. But, once it's over it's a relief.

The most important thing is to relax, the manometry took about 45-minutes and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They use a numbing gel substance so they can slide the tubing through your nose. The techs/nurses are used to just about every reaction and they told me that I could stop at any point if it became too uncomfortable.
