I am trying to understand LPR and the symptoms. Do you know if you are refluxing? Wouldn't you feel it come up into your throat? I have had that a couple of times, however I have never had any other symptoms of LPR until the past 2 months. I started with what I thought was a sinus infection, post nasal drip, sinus pressure and my nose and throat felt blocked and I felt like I couldn't breath through my nose or mouth. I did not have any reflux that I noticed. I have been to the ENT and he said I could have silent reflux but did not take any tests yet. I am better but now my nose is starting to feel stuffy again and my throat hurts a little. I have been on 3 antibiotics, and I am still on the third. Can anyone help me. Thanks Suzanne

zanney06 welcome to our forum. LPR is very hard to understand. One thing to know is that reflux can be aereolized into the area. (Fine misting). There are some tests for this-- on the forum. My family member had the test done--a very small tiny tube is placed in the nose and hangs in the throat area and measures this. (You wear it for 24 hours) . When you return to the doctor they print out a graph on the computer and you receive the results. It tells you if you are refluxing into the area of concern. Hope this helps some. Thank you, Pat! I went to my family doctor today and had a long talk with her about LPR. She didn't really know a lot except about the tests. I told her about the LPR diet that Dr. Kaufman wrote. I have been trying to adhere to the 2 week induction diet. It is very hard to stick to, everything is so dry. She told me to keep up with it for the next 2 weeks and see how it works. I have been so upset about this that I am having severe anxiety. I think I have had this for a while but it didn't worry me until this episode and I read about it. Suzanne

Go here and read about the test I mentioned earlier

We had to call restech and ask where the nearest doctor was that had the machine. Then we called the doctor to confirm that they had the machine. Not all had the machine. Mayo Clinic didn't have it..

Suzanne, go to the search engine at the top of this page and type in Restech. There are lots of entries about the test mentioned earlier.
