Getting off Zantac/Pepcid

I've trying to wean off an H2 (Pepcid) after being on either that or Zantac for over a year. I'm experiencing rebound just like I did when I weaned off a PPI. Has anyone successfully gotten off an H2 and if so, how did you do it? Did you get rebound and how long did it last? Thanks for the hope and the help.

Usually you do not get rebound since H2 blockers weaken acid vs PPI shutting off acid pumps. From what I read is too stay away from trigger foods and take probiotics. Aloe Vera and marshmallow root would help as well.

Thanks Jordan. Unfortunately there is rebound from H2's also. They also block acid but in a different way than PPIs from what I understand. Thanks so much for replying.

Yes this forum seems very inactive unfortunately. Thanks for the link. Face book is more active (their gerd forum) but many opinions so take everything with a grain of salt!

I joined some groups which found some helpful info on there. Btw you should try marshmallow root , I been doing some reading on it. People have been saying they replaced there antacids with it..works much better too..all natural too!

I think I saw you too , saw someone posting about how to get off zantac. I was the one who posted about the Gaviscone advance on the group.
