This going to be short post because I am not feeling very good. I will give this a few day and update then....but I had the Linx and Hernia repair this morning. All went well.
When I woke up in recovery I had HORRIBLE pain in neck and shoulders and they gave me pain meds for it. I can't tell you whenI was discharged cause I lost track but had to GO BACK because they forgot to do the chest X-ray after placing the Linx. Hubby took me in and then straight home.
I have been walking around a bit and resting on the sofa using Mineral Ice and heating pack on my neck and should and its feeling somewhat better. I was told soft food today/tomorrow and regular diet Monday but no hard foods, no meats, no breads. I was nauseated most of the day but sipped hot tea. Finally had half of one of those yogurts. Took 20 minutes to eat. They also told us dysphasia will start week 6-8 and it will take 8months before I am near 100%~ No driving for 3 days and not allowed to lift over 10# for 6 weeks.
My tummy has 5 small incisions and are beginning to hurt....as is my lower back. Shoulders/neck has eased up some.
Going to call it a night and hit the hay. Cotton mouth big time
Chad I KNEW most of this thanks to your very informative post so I thank you for that. I was prepared. I noticed a few peeps have shared their LINX experience on YOUTUBE. You can tell which ones are representing a Dr. or Medical facility...then there's a couple men who I think are being realistic and then this post. So far, even though I am early out....this post is the most accurate to what's really happening.
That said....I look forward to being 100% this fall. Meanwhile I can lay flat which I have not dome in years. Perhaps post not so short after all, but I think the more we al share the more we can help others going through this. It's not a walk in the park like some videos and Heath professionals suggest. I am 60Y/O Female that in normal weight and am 5'9...if that means anything
