Zantac can any one tell me if I'll have to taper off zantac. I will be on them 2 months.

Why would you think you would stop needing it? What was your diagnosis?

I don't think there is much worry about stopping it, but if you have a condition that needs to lower acid a couple of months is't going to be a permanent cure like an antibiotic cures an infection.

Thanks Alcie. Im having alot of problems tapering of Omeprazole, and I was just wondering if I would be the same with zantac. I took omeprazole for gerd . with all the bad press concerning PPIs I am tapering of that PPI. I'm just wondering if they are the same as Ppis. Thanks for your response

Zantic is not a PPI.
