NISSEN FUNDOPLICATION TAKEDOWN

Finally...scheduled for nissen takedown this Friday at US sandiego, was going in last month to take it down but found a better DR. I totally regret getting this procedure, its awful. Lost 40 lbs, got tachycardia syndrome, difficult breathing, dizzy, etc...its awful. My recommendation, if you only have severe gerd without hiatal hernia or life threatening issues DO NOT GET THIS SURGERY. I know this topic has come up but not a lot of info online. I will be posting updates to this forum on my recovery

Yes the nissen is intact just had numerous issues, I do not trust the long term outcome of the wrap, thank god im getting this down

I had a laprascopic nissen fundoliplication 15 yrs ago. Once I got past the inital recovery period there were some growing pains. I would get chest pain if I ate a little too much, excessive gas (which I still suffer from) but overall I am happy I had the surgery. Now being 15yrs out I have a return of some of my acid reflux. After I have birth to my daughter is when I started to have trouble. I have had follow up endoscopy to evaluate the wrap & was told it looked ok but I am back on 40mg protonix twice a day. My acid reflux is controlled on the medicine which is better then before the surgery but I fear there will come a day when it wont help anymore. I had short segment barrets at 17yrs old (which is why I had the nissen in the 1st place) I would definitely recommend the surgery but I would wait until you arw done having children
