Hi Alexa Jane,
Sorry to hear you're struggling. As someone with a sensitive, reactive stomach, I can identify with your frustration regarding how hard it is to recover from gastritis and how long it takes. I'm dealing with some gastritis right now, and it has been going on for several weeks. It's beginning to feel better, but I'm taking a lot of medication to make it that way. Once it feels better for a while, I'll cut back on acid reducers, and if it feels better, I'll take the advice of my GI doc--wait till it feels perfect for two weeks, then try introducing more challenging foods and see how it does. Not very encouraging, I know. I've had some stomach inflammation that has lasted months, so I understand your frustration.
I'm sure that your pregnancy complicated things, and challenged your wrap. Congratulations on that beautiful baby boy!! Was that barium swallow done recently? If it is not a recent image, it would probably answer some of your questions to have another one done. I do know that when I have a stomach flare, it does cause some reflux. Even with the surgery, it's possible to get some acid escaping. Have you seen an ENT to see what's going on with your tongue? There can be other causes of painful tongue issues.
The problem with a reactive stomach is that you have to stick to a very careful diet CONSISTENTLY. If you "cheat" you set back your progress. Believe me, I know how hard it is.
I hope your stomach calms down soon. Mine, too!
Take care,
Denise
