prednisone and heartburn

hi about a week ago i was given 12 tablets of Prednisone for 6 days for a stiff neck from a doctor from urgent care about 5 days in my neck felt fine, i ended up stopping the medication the doctor never mention tampering off. so about 4 days ago i had a bad episode i felt really weird panicky heartburn gagging and cramping and going out my mind i told the ER nurse i was having a panic attack which i sometimes would get anyway, they check my heart lungs sugar ect everything came back normal but however i am experiencing frequent and persisted heartburn in the mornings which i never had before i ve been taking tums got ok but then it starts all over again i would like to know how long the heartburn last from predisone? ty

thanks i fail to mention that before i left the hospital i was given a high dose of prednisone and also i am a asthmatic it seems like i used my albuterol it makes the heartburn worst i have acid reducer and mylanta it worked but as soon as i drink something it starts and the need to throw up all i want is relief and the gagging is still a problem today, i don't think i got more then 3 hours of sleep. in my past dealing with this drug i should have said no
