Hi, I will try to keep this brief. I have struggled with GERD for over 10 yrs. tried everything possible, with no luck. Started having some major complications and decided to have the "TIF procedure" done. I have had a lot of complications and just don't know if this is normal..
After surgery I was having a very tough recovery (they also did a hernia repair and it was larger than expected) I was in a lot of pain and couldn't seem to eat or drink well. After a week of constant puking and severe pain I developed a fever, pain so severe I couldn't handle it and extreme dehydration. I was seen multiple times in urgent care for IV fluids and IV medicines. But eventually went to the hospital. Long story short I had to go back in to open up my new "valve" to make it a little stretched out. Since I got to the point I couldn't even swallow my spit.
After doing that I felt like I was maybe on the right track finally. But now I'm still really really struggling. It seems like I can only get water down. Only very very thin drinks. I'm getting close to no food/calories etc. I've tried ensure, protein drink, very very thin smoothie, a semi melted popsicle, jello, and so on. Everything feels like it's just getting stuck. And it feels that way for at least 5-10 mins after a tiny amount of food. I don't know what to do. I know some of this is normal but I literally am only able to get water down and obviously that's not sustainable.
Has anyone had this? What do I do? I'm scared something's wrong. I almost feel like my body is just completely rejecting this. I'm absolutely desperate for help. I've been to the hospital so many times and no solutions yet. ðŸ˜
