1 year review after nissen

Hi it is 1 year since I had my full wrap nissen procedure. It has been a long road but all my reflux has gone and I have no regrets. It really does take a year to get over this operation. It did for me anyway. The 1st couple of months I had a lot of trouble swallowing meat even when pulverised. I had trouble with dizzy spells as I was not consuming enough calories. I also had dumping syndrome and episodes of diarrhea but all those symptoms gradually disappeared. When I tried to do too much my insides would start aching and I would have to lie down all afternoon. At about the 6 month mark I found out my gall bladder was playing up ( I think due to my weight loss-4kgs) and I was avoiding a lot of foods still. I had silent reflux and I remember then I had a lot of phlegm sitting in my throat again. At 8 months I had my gall bladder out and that made a huge difference to me getting better and feeling normal again. It took 2-3 months to get over that operation but nothing as bad as the nissen. I can eat all foods again and drink some wine and have lots of energy and feel normal again. I still have not put the weight back on but a bit slimmer and probably better for it. I cannot eat big meals and am better eating smaller meals more often. And I don't have to take Nexium--Hoorah!!

Well at 8 months before I had my gall bladder out it was quite bad then but after the operation everything got better and better. I was still a bit of reflux eating garlic and tomatoes a couple of months ago but that has gone now. I am sure by the 1 year mark it will have gone.
