Have you tried an anti-gas (simethicone) medication? Was your GERD diagnosed with an endoscopy?
No to both. The doctor pressed down on my upper abdominal, the area I said was the sharpest, and confirmed it was tender to the touch. She agreed with my self-diagnosis of GERD.
Beforehand, I wasn't suffering from the horrific symptoms the Ranitidine brought on.
Excess saliva, the burning and heaviness between my chest and throat, belching, regurgitation, and excess passing of gas. When I tried to protest a week later during my anxious return, she passed it off as anxiety and urged me to keep taking the medication.
Lately It feels like IBS symptoms rather than GERD. As if it's moved on to another part of my body to annoy. I've stopped getting sore throats, bitter and/or sour taste in mouth, regurgitation, the burning and heaviness miraculously proofed, and no more heartburn. Although, the upper sides of my throat ache a little when I strain my neck at a certain degree - not sure if related? Goes away when I stop straining. And I also don't taste the acid anymore.
What do you suggest I do? Wasn't having a gas problem until four days ago. To be honest, the cramps aren't as bad as when my esophagus felt like it was being stabbed and set ablaze.
