I had an "open" surgery to repair hiatial hernia, partial stomach wrap, and lengthening of esophagus four weeks ago. I had the surgery due to having shortness of breath and mucous in throat with hoarseness. I am still having the shortness of breath and yesterday, I felt some mild heart palpatations. I also have lots of gas and flatulence and feel a pressure or fullness in my stomach. I am starting to get very anxious and am perhaps over-reacting to what are normal symptoms for after such a surgery. Can anyone give me any reassurance about the shortness of breath and feeling of an occasional skipped heartbeat. Could it be related to all the gas or just swelling after surgery. Is there still hope that this surgery could be successful after more healing takes place or have I ruined my life by having the surgery. Sorry that I have posted several times but it seems each day is causing me more and more concerns. Thanks for any info or encouragement.
