Update 2 years 8 months post fundoplication

It's absolutely ages since I posted on here - but I thought I would put an update on here, mainly as I had a successful 270 degree fundo with hiatus hernia repair and have had a completely acid reflux free life since. There is one thing though - that I couldn't report on until it happened - and that is being sick! I got a tummy bug a couple of weeks ago - and found that I can't really vomit anymore. I found I could bring up liquid - but that's all. It just means you feel a bit rough a little bit longer. I certainly don't regret having the op for one minute - and it's a small price to pay for a mainly stress free life!

Ah - not good. I never had any issues swallowing - just keeping things down in my stomach! Noticed the difference within a couple of weeks. The acid used to irritate my vocal chords and made me cough a lot. Now it's just when I get a cold. Hope all goes well with the dilation - sounds like your wrap is a bit too tight!
