Heal barret esophagus, 21years old

Hello , im 21 years old , I have been suffering from gerd for years , especially at night ...

A few days ago, I spit blood for a few hours, I think it came from my esophagus,

I have to do an endoscopy in a few weeks

I'm afraid it's barret esophagus, im very very very afraid of this !!!!!

Do you think I can have this ? im extremly afraid ...

Can we heal this ?

Take a deep breath and try to relax. I was diagnosed with Barrett's with high grade dysplasia which is one step before cancer. In fact they found a few cancer cells within the dysplasia. I've had a mucosal resection, Nissen fundoplication and paraesphogeal surgery and am scheduled for two ablations. After all that, my cancer risk will be down to 1%.

Barrett's is nothing to fool around with but you need to take this one step at a time. If further treatment is needed after the endoscopy, find the best GI doctor you can and follow his directions.

The point of my first response was to get it checked out and even if it is Barrett's, there is treatment available. Straydog is right, none of us can diagnosis what's going on. Once the endoscopy is done, the doctors will know a lot more. I know it's difficult but try to stay off the internet. Some of the stuff will scare you for no reason.

You'll no doubt have an appointment with your doctor after the endoscopy. I always put together a list of questions to ask so I have a clear understanding of the condition and treatment. You might want to do the same because without the list it's easy to forget everything you want to ask.

And try to relax.
