reflux after wrap

I had my wrap done six weeks ago and pretty much from a few days after the op I have felt like I still have reflux. I saw my surgeon 10 days post op and he suggested that it might be food stuck at the wrap site. He suggested that we give it more time. the symptoms are still there should I be worried that the op has failed.

It has been many years since my procedure but I do recall minor reflux post fundo and found it was usually related to acidic foods. Dr had me stay on prilosec for a while and it has mostly resolved.
For me these were a few of the culprits.. excess garlic, tart juices and fruits, minty items (even gum, mouthwash), obviously hot sauce and salsas etc..
Happy to say that I can enjoy most anything now but in moderation (again its been about 10 years).

Were you taking any medication post-surgery? At six weeks, I would contact my surgeon again to discuss the problems that you continue to have. I do know that some people still need to temporarily take PPIs after surgery, but then the symptoms seem to resolve themselves. My only other suggestions would be to go back to a softer diet like you originally used after surgery to see if you can calm down the irritation at the wrap site. If you think that the wrap has been compromised, your surgeon can perform an endoscopy to get a better idea of what is going on.

thanks for your replies. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week I will ask about an endoscopy just to check everything is ok. I recently started PPI so will see if this makes a difference in the meantime
