Hi all, so I’m stockpiling supplies in preparation for my surgery in 10 days and I need some advice. I will either make or buy chicken/beef bone broth, and make up some soups to keep in freezer, I love to cook so I think I have ideas for me to eat.(or drink)My husband and I take psyllium husk every night (for good bowels and heart health), but it gets thick fast and so we drink it before it gets up. This is the plain natural husk, not Metamucil. In reading how I will most likely have a hard time swallowing, psyllium can’t be a good choice for fiber after this surgery. Has anyone used something called benefiber? It says on the bottle it doesn’t thicken up and I was thinking this might be a good option, not only to keep things moving, but adding in some fiber. Also, any liquid calcium recommendations, and as natural as possible. I currently take a product called bone-up which is made from bones in capsules. I thought of opening those up and drinking them, but maybe I could find something else here. I need this because of the Prilosec I have taken for 6 years and will continue to take for a month or so after my operation. The doctor wants my Barrett’s esophagus and ulcers to calm down using the Prilosec.
Any other recommendations that will be helpful for the first few weeks?
