I ate a spicy perogy pizza from Boston Pizza yesterday with bbq wings and a hot
cookie ice cream. I had a little heartburn after but nothing to serious but I awoke today with increasing heartburn even though that meal was at 5:30 pm yesterday.
Is this common?

Yes, it is common. If you are a GERD sufferer, you really need to watch your diet.

I've had increased GERD symptoms many times the next day, so yes, it happens...especially for the type of meal you described.
