Hi guys, I usually post on the Ulcerative Colitis forum. I had an endoscopy last week, however, and am trying to decide whether or not to take the ppi my GI prescribed.
When they did the scope they found LA grade b esophogitis and found mildly erythematos mucosa without bleeding profusely throughout the stomach. Also have a small hiatal hernia. My questions are this. Can you have the second finding if you have low stomach acid? I tried the baking soda test this morning but didn't burp for 10 minutes. I am a vegetarian, so I am not sure how the hcl test could be done. On the other hand, is high acid associated with food moving quickly through the system? Thanks!
