Well, to be honest I don't actually manage it. It just waxes and wane's but mine is chronic. I also have IBS and diverticulitis and sometimes it confusing to tell which is which. I tend to feel bloaty when it's gastritis as well as nauseous. I second the zofran. It's really helps a lot.
When in an attack my Dr. says liquids for 2 days or so, especially warm ones and he counts soup that has been throughly blended ok. Then, assuming I'm feeling better I can go on soft foods, then slowly adding the rest in. But, again it's sometimes one or the other. He can tell but if I went in everytime I had an attack that's all I would be doing. Also, I find that heating pads help and I'm very tired.
I also don't know how gastritis and Crohns and gastritis react with each other. If you don't feel better soon you might want to check in with your dr. again. You never know when something that mimic's a disease happens.
