Hello,
I had the TIF procedure in June of 2017. It took a long time before I could really get things down. Took me two months on a liquid diet, and be careful when eating solids even after that. I still have a lot of difficulty with bread or anything super solid. Chew until your food is puree is all I can tell you. I had to later have my esophagus dilated because it was too tight. I made the mistake of drinking some beyond the initial recovery period and having caffeinated beverages. I would avoid those for a while longer than the 12 weeks that are suggested. I also found out I had ulcers shortly after the procedure so my reflux seemed to stem from that. I truly wish you the best in your recovery. Hang in there! The first three months are the hardest. Chew well when you get to solids. Avoid eating a couple hours before bed. Avoid any acidic or caffeinated beverages. You should start seeing better results in the near future. Also, the pressure from that new valve will cause the shoulder pain for a some time. Should subside at some point after its healed all the way. I drink from straws often. That is also going to cause bloating which can lead to the shoulder pain. Bone broth, slippery elm tea and marshmallow tea helped tremendously in the liquid diet portion of the recovery.
