Post Nissens’ vomiting

Hi, does anyone have any advice regarding vomiting post Nissens? My son had his op 18 years ago as a child and has started vomiting today for the first time. He’s vomited 4 times in the last 2-3 hours. He obviously has a bug or something. Does he need to get medical help? I’m just terrified that the vomiting might disrupt the wrap. Thanks for any insights!

My surgeon has me keep an anti-nausea medication on me at all times (Zofran). Since vomiting can damage the wrap, I would take him to the ER for treatment.

Oh gosh!! Really?! How long ago was your surgery? We’re in the UK and I can’t imagine a UK surgeon suggesting that. They’re much more gung ho!
I posted this last night. He vomited about 6 times and is now a lot better today. I guess it’s only once he starts eating that he’ll know if the wrap survived the experience... 😕

My surgery was over 4 years ago and nausea is something that I still experience on occasion.
