Nissen Fundoplication

Hello I am looking for someone who has gone through the new acid reflux surgery call Resection and plication(RAP)? I am scheduled to have this on Oct. 1st. My doctor assures me the surgery will go great. I should be off all my medicines I 6 months. Since this surgery is done with Endoscope, I won't have the recovery of being cut. I also have a hiatal hernia to be fix. My acid reflux is severe with 462 episodes in 48 hour period. It is causing me to have a constant cough. I suffer from moderate to severe asthma symptoms. But asthma test shows I don't have asthma. I am taking Nexium twice a day 40mg each dose, symbicort once a day and nebulizer 3 times a day. Plus medication for high heart rate. All due to acid reflux. So I wonder if this surgery has helped with the acid reflux and the side effects from the acid reflux. The weight lost is a concern too. I can afford to lose 25 pounds, but then I will start looking like I have an eating disorder. My doctor said if after surgery if I feel its still difficult to swallow food in 2 months he can stretch my esophagus. He told me that less than 1 per cent have problems after the surgery. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As Sharon said, I expect you post-op symptoms will be very similar to a regular Nissen.
