Hi everyone,
I’m 2 weeks post hiatus and Fundoplication repair. Other than the shoulder and chest pain on taking a deep breath and lying down I’ve been doing well. I’d just like some reassurance that the changes I’m feeling are normal at this stage in recovery.
A few disappointing symptoms have developed:
* dull ache almost a heartburn feeling in my oesophagus.
* a catch in my breath sometimes when walking and talking.
* throat discomfort like something is caught and feeling a need to clear my throat or swallow to clear it but it doesn’t change.
* a furry white/yellow tongue with smooth patches and a terrible taste in my mouth.
I still burp, I’m on somac once a day ( 1/2 my previous dose) and I’m eating and drinking 1/2 to 1 cup of liquid or purée at a time.
I’m guessing this is all part of the recovery process having read other posts but the feeling of heartburn is so upsetting!
Cheers
Rosie
