Greetings all!
37 year old male here. Normal body type/non smoker. Just had the TIF procedure 4 weeks ago. Mind you, My symptoms always included the following :: chest pain, radiating back to my shoulder blade/center of my back/ can’t burp unless i tilt my head to the left n literally push it out...
I never really had heart burn unless i wasnt taking my meds. I did 48 hour PH test in which you CANNOT take any reflux meds, and I would seriously get heartburn from drinking water. The doctor said I had severe reflux. I did the manometry test & showed some of my swallows were abnormal indicating my esophagael sphincter was weak.
Long story short, after every med/test in the book, i had the TIF Procedure a month ago. Mind you, the guy is the Chief of Surgery for the hospital, very well known n respected. 4 weeks later after the TIF, I feel exactly the same. Followed the liquids only diet for 4-5 days, then slowly introduced mashes taters, pudding, rice pudding, light fish, cooked veggies.
I just feel the same overall. I had spaghetti w/ vodka sauce for dinner a couple days ago & the next day, U had reflux for like 8 hours. I assume the sauce? I thought the TIF was supposed to alleviate the reflux???? Mind you, my surgeon said my original valve was messed up badly due to Gerd & my new valve was one of the best he has ever done.
So my question is(:::::: Am I supposed to be waiting longer? Weeks? Months?? My doctor doesnt seem too concerned .
Any help would be appreciated! Sitting here with a sore chest
