I am 2 weeks out from my Hiatal Hernia repair and Nissan fundo surgery. All went well with surgery, I was extremely nervous, and that whole process went very well and was way better than what I thought might happen. I do have swallowing issues, stomach issues still, but manageable.
My problems I need advice on:
1- I am 2 weeks out and my bowels have not bounced back much since after surgery. I am taking 3 different stool meds to help things along with small progress. I have until tomorrow for things to improve or I have to go in and do some tests to see if I have a blockage or internal issue. So fingers crossed I feel better by the morning, but guessing it wouldn't hurt for them to see what is going on with a X-ray or CT scan apparently. Has this happened to you? Any suggestions?
2- My stomach hurts. still feel like there is a lot of gas moving around or stomach pains from above issue. But I also feel like I have an acid issue. Stomach hurts, tums doesn't help much but feels like acid reflux but does't come up my esophagus anymore which is good, but it feels like it is trying. I know this surgery does't fix too much acid production, but I was hoping I would be off of reflux meds after surgery. Does anyone feel like this? If it is not too much acid, then I am just not sure why my stomach hurts so much.
3- I ended up laughing really hard 2 days ago and hope I didn't mess up my stitches. Now My stomach hurts like you are doing sit ups if I do anything too active or move too fast. Dr. set up a GI study to see how things are before my 3 week follow up, but anyone have anything like this happening?
I feel like the biggest frustration after surgery is drinking liquids and finding soft foods. Any one have soft food ideas besides runny potatoes. Tired of protein drinks and liquids in general. Dr said I could test out some soft foods, but with my stomach issues still feeling really nauseous.
would LOVE any suggestions!!
