“Dumb organ” symptoms

I’m reading here that the esophagus can be labeled as a “dumb organ” and can send the feeling of symptoms that aren’t true symptoms.

Can anyone share if you his is true for LPR throat burn days after Nissen? My symptoms (throat burn and eustatian inflammation) disappeared while in the hospital. Once I got home, those feelings all came back. Could it be due to my esophagus being “confused”.
