I'm sorry you had such a rough time with your surgery. You are still very early in recovery. I didn't suffer any of the complications that you had, but didn't feel much better until 6 months post surgery and the "new" me at around 1 year. I had a full wrap, and lost the ability to belch and vomit - it was explained to me before surgery, and it really doesn't bother me. Your surgeon should have prescribed something for nausea - I use Zofran - and keep it handy. I'm over 5 years out and still experience ocassional waves of nausea for no reason. I don't have any answer about your chest pain, but the "feeling" of reflux is very common. Some people benefit from taking a short course of PPIs post surgery. You can always take a O-T-C Pepcid at bedtime to see if it gives you some relief. The bloating is also very common, you can try taking an anti-gas medication containing simethicone. Also, don't try and advance your diet too quickly. If you find something bothers you, go back to a softer diet for a short time and try again later.
