Rebound acid ?

Hello everyone I've been suffering with an awful bout of gerd ! I had a bad time 5 years ago and got diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia but that seemed to ease on its own after 6 months but for the past 8 weeks I've been awful my doctor had put me on lazaprazole but last week I came off it as he wants to test me for h pylori well anyway a week of being off it and I've never felt anything like it ! I cannot sleep the waves of acid keep me awake I honestly feel like I'm burning from the inside out , could this be rebound acid if so how long can it last !! When its this bad nothing will touch it sorry for the long post thanks 😊
