Unfortunately, nausea is a common side effect of the surgery. Make sure that your doctor prescribes an anti-nausea medication - I use Zofran. I still have ocassional nausea five years after my surgery, and it seems to come out of no where, and for no reason. It's good to have the prescription with you at all times. Make sure that you eat slowly and keep chewing your food to an almost liquid consistency, this is still important. It's common to lose weight after the surgery, but most people gain it back in due time and most everyone suffers from exhaustion. You have to remember that you had major abdominal surgery and your body needs time to adjust. I didn't feel much better until 6 months post-surgery, and the "new" me at almost on year. Try not to be too anxious, you'll get there - it just takes time.
