TIFF procedure out of pocket

I was wondering if anyone knows how much a TIFF procedure would cost out of pocket?

My doctor said that I would need to get Blue Cross/Blue Shield because they are the only insurance plan that covers the TIFF procedure. BC/BS costs 6k per year, which is a lot for me. My company will pay half of the cost for Cigna, which would be much more cost effective for me.

However, I may only have this job for 6 months, so right now I'm in the open enrollment phase. So I was thinking that maybe I could purchase BC/BS, only pay for it for 6 months, get the surgery, get laid off, then drop BC/BS.

I was also thinking about just paying for the TIFF procedure out of pocket, but I don't know how much that would cost.

Thanks Susie - So you're saying that the TIFF procedure will be more than 6k. So it might make sense for me to change my insurance to BC/BS.
