So I’m 8 days after my TIF procedure. 43 years old. 6’1” 200 pounds. The first few days after surgery I had horrible gas, constipation, no appetite, lower left back pain, stomach pain, thought I had pancreatitis, felt like I was likely dying. I was not prepared for it.
The past couple days have been great. Ibuprofen has helped, but I feel pretty good. First week was liquid diet. Ensure, broth, apple sauce, etc. yesterday I had Alfredo pasta. Didn’t eat much, but chewed it up to nothing, swallowed, drank down some water. No problemo. Today (day 8) I had an Ensure for breakfast, just ate 5 pigs in blanket dipped in catsup for lunch. Again, I chewed up little bites to mush basically. All good. Some light lower back pain afterwards, but short lived.
Is this okay? I know I’m pushing it, but it seems to be ok. I mean, before surgery I took a pill of omeprazole a day and could eat whatever. Felt fine. It was just when I would be off omeprazole for a couple days I would be bad. Couldn’t swallow or eat much of anything. Had TIF because long term in Omeprazole is not good. I’m still on omeprazole right now. Doctor has me staying on it for a few more weeks.
Has anyone else had TIF and been able to accelerate the suggested diet?
