Take a deep breath, there are many people who are suffering with the same symptoms. The best thing you can do is follow a GERD-friendly diet. There are a lot of good suggestions that are pinned to the top of this Forum. You can also take an over-the-counter Pepcid at bedtime to try and relieve your symptoms. I know that you are stressed, but you are worrying before you've even seen your GP in person. Anxiety can cause/make your symptoms seem worse.
