Hi everyone. I had nissen fundoplication surgery 4 months ago. I have had reflux the entire 4 months. I had an upper GI done in October and the doctor felt that my wrap was too tight. I had an endoscopy in October also to loosen the wrap some. I sleep sitting up and I am on ppi. I still have reflux. Other than being too tight my doctor did not see any issues with the wrap. Anyone else experience this. I wake up every morning with burning in my throat, chest, and back pain due to reflux.

Usually when a wrap is too tight, you would have difficulty swallowing. Having symptoms after surgery is common, but they usually subside fairly quickly - and you are still on PPIs, which is concerning. I would seek a second opinion from another surgeon, preferably at a teaching hospital.

The Boards are very slow, and you may not receive responses - or they will be slow in coming.
