Bravo study

I’ve had a floppy nissen done about a year ago and had continuous chest pain, bitter taste tongue sometimes at night, some regurgitations. I’ve just had an endoscopy with bravo and my gastro said the nissen look intact and the esophagus look fine. He didn’t see the gastritis in my stomach that used to be there. I have been taking carafe off and on during the past year. I got my bravo result back and it said the Demester score is 0. Before surgery my score was over 100 on a 24h impedance test. My gastro think I might have functional heartburn and want me to take some anti depressants medication to relax the esophagus. Is there such a thing as functional heartburn? How accurate is the bravo study? The bitter taste tongue and regurgitation seems real to me.

I did some research regarding functional heartburn and it seems that there are quite a few out there. I am a little apprehensive about taking antidepressants and getting hooked on it and thinking of just powering through although the chest pain has been bothering me before surgery and only getting a little better afterward. I think I might ask for a 24h impedance just to be sure.
