I have been having GERD for 25 years now. Two weeks ago, my family and I got this flu/ variant. In addition to high fever, I had nausea and intestinal pain as I have Crohn’s. Contacted my GI then and he prescribed ondansetron injections. Took them but the nausea didn’t subside. Saw him last Monday and he prescribed another week of granisteron injections. Two days of injections are left and I keep struggling in order not to throw up. I have explosive burping and feel I want to throw up all the time. He mentioned that this is because of my gastritis and since I have no appetite to eat, he prescribed Vanoprazan x2 instead of Nexium 40 mg x2. He even suggested that I could add Nexium. I don’t feel any better. I eat small portions several times, I actually sleep like 90 degrees and of course, avoid any irritating food at the time being. Sometimes , I only drink homemade juices instead of eating. I don’t know how to control this flare up.
