English is not my first language, so sorry for any mistakes.

I'm 3 weeks post Nissen fundoplication. My esophageal motility was the lowest my surgeon had ever seen, so the Nissen is not as tight as it could be, because he worried I wouldn't be able to swallow at all.
My GERD symptoms have always worsened around my ovulation and period and now is no exception. For the past 3 days, I've felt burning and a lump in my throat. Today when I burp I feel a little bit of liquid go up, but I'm not sure if it's saliva.
I'm wondering does anyone have a similar experience? Is it normal?

You have a unique situation, so it's best to speak with your surgeon. When you have a nissen that is looser than normal, there's always a chance to have reflux backwash into your esophagus. Keep in mind that you are still very early in your recovery and you can expect small setbacks along the way. I would stay with liquids and a mushy diet and not try and advance your diet too quickly. The lump is called globus sensation and is sometimes caused by anxiety. This should also subside.
