Hi everyone. New member, just found this amazing support site today while researching my problem. So I’m wondering if anyone can help. I had an endoscopy with two biopsies 6 days ago and was diagnosed with small hiatal hernia (bummer) and possible reflux esophagitis (bummer x2) and had a stricture dilation performed. Immediately after procedure I felt fine, just hungry, since I had fasted all day. Shortly after eating I noticed I got bloated and the following day I experienced heart burn, something I never really had before. Since then I have had lots of stomach bloating and heart burn after eating and even after not having eaten in a while. The heart burn has been getting better day by day but the bloat is crazy. I feel like I need to burp or pass gas and nothing comes out. It’s been difficult to eat because of this bloating pressure just sitting on my top middle, left stomach which makes me feel full rather quickly. Usually the feeling will lessen, especially when I wake up in the morning, but it comes right back when I eat anything or drink water. At first I thought it was a flare up and have been taking Gaviscon for the heartburn but I feel like it makes the bloating worse. It’s a very frustrating. My diet has been pretty strict since the procedure except for the first day after where I had small amount of chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce and some beef marinated in some other sauce? I’m wondering if this issue is just irritation in my stomach from procedure and eating too much too soon causing excessive trapped gas or if the procedure triggered something else. I felt perfectly fine the day of and before my procedure. Since then I’ve been on and off miserable. Did anyone ever experience anything like this after their endoscopy? Thanks in advance for replying.
