Hi, I recently decided to have the surgery after having trouble swallowing for five years now caused by GERD. Its been a full week since the surgery and I was wondering if anyone here has had the surgery and could give me any answers on their recovery. I'm on a stricly liquid diet for a week now per my doctor and feel like its worse than it was before. I have a sore throat and a severe burning sensation when I just swallow liquids along with a wierd feeling of my organs moving around. I attempted to eat mashed potatoes but it felt like it was laying in my throat so I was ordered by the doctor to stop even soft foods after the first attempt. And I still feel like I have the acid reflux problem and was told to go back on my medications again for now. I was also told to stick to liquids only for another two weeks. Has anyone had the same symptoms and did it get better in time. I'm loosing hope quickly and am beginning to think this was a huge mistake. If anyone could share with me their experience, Thanks
Tim O
