Well, I was worried that I wasn't making the right decision about
the surgery. I mean my ultrasounds of my GB have all been very normal, CT scan was normal. The only thing abnormal was a Hida scan I had done that showed it wasn't emptying properly.
So after my surgery on Friday my surgeon came in to see me. He tells me that he was very surprised! My gallbladder looked awful!!!!! He said it was very discolored, misshapen and started to form adhesions inside my abdominal cavity-ouch! Also, it was full of sludge. Ill get a pathology report back in 2 weeks on it.
Needless to say, I am glad I did it now! Even if it doesn't help with any of my GI problems including GERD, I did the right thing. If I would have left it in, it would have just gotten worse and who knows what else would have happened?
Im still very sore and so, so tired! Anyone else have their GB's removed? Any advice on a good recovery? I did have it done laproscopically so that was a good thing at least.
Thanks all for the well wishes-I really appreciated them!!
Nancy
