When I get heartburn, it hurts like a heart attack. My chest hurts very bad. It is like a basket ball has been blown up in my chest. It comes on very sudden and is very painful. It used to be like regular heartburn, with the burning sensation, but changed to this. Most of the time Nexium controls this, but at times it does not. I haven’t been able to pinpoint exactly what causes this pain. I’m retired and not under any stress. I don’t eat Mexican food or other things spicy. I have been taking 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and one spoon of honey each night. That has dramatically reduced my GERD symptoms. I used to get heartburn 8 or 9 times each week. Now it only happens about 3 times a month. But when it does happen, it HURTS very much. Any suggestions?
