Is anyone here taking Aciphex and if so what is your experience with it? Does it help? Any side effects? Thanks.

I took it for about a year and then had to switch because it lost its effect.. I had no side effects from it.. I did help for about a year or so..

Hi..I took Aciphex for about 6 months..helped me a little, but the side effects for me were pretty noticable.  Dry mouth, I felt like my tongue was swollen and I was biting it.  My doc said that was normal on this med...I did not like this "normal" feeling so I went off of it.  Good Luck to you, this is a long road..

Thank you for the replies. Was wondering if anyone had trouble sleeping on it. I normally go through bad sleep cycles (insomnia) but need to get out of my head that this drug may be causing it this time. I think I've convinced myself into thinking it is the cause which is remotely possible but probably unlikely. Other than that it seems to be helping me.

I too went off aciphex.  I had the dry mouth and swollen tongue also and wanted to bite my tongue it felt so fat and looked fat. 

The Prevacid has really worked so much better for me and I don't have any noticable side effects.

No really noticable side effect here from Aciphex. It's the only PPI that can help control my heart burn. I failed Prevacid, Protoniz, and omeprazole.

Thank you again for the replies. I've found Aciphex to work best so far for my reflux. Prevacid is my second choice. I've tried them all too. I think the sleep thing is in my mind.
